Louise Walch:

Board Member

Louise Walch in front of United States Capitol

Originally from Australia, Louise Walch joined the NFB promptly after arriving in the United States as a student in 2001. She was a national scholarship winner in 2003 and went on to graduate from Brigham Young University in 2005 and the Louisiana Center for the Blind in 2006. Throughout her time in the ?NFB family? she has served in several positions including President of the San Antonio Chapter from January 2007 to February 2009. Louise is enthusiastic about welcoming new members into the NFB because she believes that all can benefit from knowing that blind people can achieve their highest goals with the proper training, opportunity, and attitude.

Outside the NFB, Louise works as Braille Certification Coordinator for the National Blindness Professionals Certification Board, (NBPCB). She and her husband Joseph (also a vibrantly active NFB member) are expecting their first baby in October 2009.
